gettingtohappy.jpgGETTING TO HAPPY by Terry McMillan
Hardcover on sale September 7, 2010

The much anticipated sequel to WAITING TO EXHALE picks up the story of the same four women 15 years later.  Savannah, Gloria, Bernadine, and Robin tackle midlife with the same spirit, sass and faith in one another they had the first go 'round.  Think of all the options for your book club, reading both books, watching the movie and of course hanging out with your best girlfriends!

SAVING CEECEE HONEYCUTT by Beth Hoffman
Trade Paperback on sale October 26th, 2010

This book was doing so well and has been in such demand from book clubs that the Penguin moved up the release date of the paperback to help get it in your hands!  Brought to you by the same editor as THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES, this book is described as STEEL MAGNOLIAS meets THE HELP in this Southern debut novel sparkling with humor, heart, and feminine wisdom.  It's on my list and should probably be on yours!

REMARKABLE CREATURES by Tracy Chevalier
Trade Paperback on sale October 26th, 2010

Best known for GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING, author Tracy Chevalier focuses her newest novel on another woman whose story has been lost to history.  The discoveries of fossils on the beaches of Lyme Regis, England, in the 19th century rocked the world and opened the minds of scientists to the planet's unimaginable age and the extinction of species. Though attributed to men of consequence, the first remarkable finds were made by the poor working-class Anning family—and their young daughter, Mary. Chevalier wraps the history with a tale of the friendship between Mary and Elizabeth Philpot, a gentlewoman also fascinated by the creatures of stone, in a time when women were thought to be ill-suited to the work or incapable of understanding the scope of their finds.
