The Queen of Sleepy Eye

Novelist Patti Hill celebrates the release of her newest novel The Queen of Sleepy Eye which details with insight and humor a story of love, forgiveness and the complexity of mother/daughter relationships.

It’s 1975 and Amy is heading off to California to attend college. She can’t wait to spread her wings and mostly, she can’t wait to leave her mom behind.  But before she can leave town, her mother hijacks the trip and along the way, forces a detour to Cordial, Colorado.

Amy is forced to take a job running the local funeral home and is disgusted by her mom’s antics to land a boyfriend. Amy decides this too shall pass and that she’ll make the most of it by befriending the older residents who are being left behind.  In the meantime, Amy is drawn into the hippies who have taken up residence outside of town.
