James Garbarino is one of the foremost authorities on youth violence. He has spent over twenty-five years working with violent boys and teenagers and is the author of seventeen books and over 150 articles on the subject of childhood trauma and its deadly legacy. He has advised President Clinton at a White House summit on school violence and has appeared as an expert on the subject on every major news program. Dr. Garbarino is currently co-director of the Family Life Development Center and professor of human development at Cornell University. He and his family live in Ithaca, New York.
