Vanitha Sankaran holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Antioch University, where she received the Eloise Klein Healy scholarship. She is a founding editor of the literary journal flashquake, and though her first love is novels, she has written numerous pieces of short fiction. Her work has been published in print and online journals, serialized in a San Francisco newspaper, and aired on the Bay Area affiliate of NPR.
