Back in 1999 we came up with an idea for a website for book clubs. What started out as a small idea has grown into a website that has become a destination each month for close to 200,000 unique visitors. We have more than 3,000 discussion guides, 10,000 registered book groups and 11,000 newsletter subscribers.
We know what book clubs do best --- you discuss books in a shared venue that enhances your reading experience. I can’t count how many times we have seen letters from readers that have experienced a book in a whole new way thanks to their book club. Through your meetings you come to know authors whose work may have passed you by if not for a recommendation from us or your fellow group members. You connect with other readers through a shared passion and have formed friendships that often extend beyond your book group; some of you have terrific histories behind you. Through the years we know book groups have discussed books that have motivated, moved, inspired and just made for great conversation.
When I was trying to come up with a way to celebrate this anniversary I wanted to do something special --- and I wanted to give away something BIG as a thank you from us.
Well, I think we are doing just that with our 10th Anniversary Contest!
In honor of our 10th anniversary, we're looking for your book group's Top 10 Favorite Discussion Books. Share them with us and you will be entered to win one of FIFTY (50) gift certificates worth $200.
Consider this a chance for your group to buy a month’s worth of your discussion books --- on us! The gift certificate can be for your group or you can opt to donate your prize to a library, school or other organization of your choice.
The contest is open from May 10, 2010 through August 31, 2010 to give you plenty of time to meet with your group and discuss your top titles and enter.
