When your book club is discussing a hot new title or the latest work of literary fiction are you thinking to yourself - "You know... I think I could do that... " Write, I mean. Do you think things like, "I would have given that character a better name" - OR - "I might have cut out that scene with the dog" - OR - "I could have described that man's mustache in a more interesting way". St. Martin's has just announced a new short-story competition, to be judged by Jeffrey Archer. The winner will be offered a publishing contract to have their short story (5,000 words or less) issued as an ebook. The contest is called Jeffrey Archer Presents and is in celebration of his new short story collection AND THEREBY HANGS A TALE. It's specifically for unpublished writers, so now's your chance!
Pretty cool, right?
