Years ago, when I owned an independent bookstore, we started several book clubs. One of them, which was only known as the CBTB Main Book Club (the store was called Coffee Buy The Book) still lives on. I haven't made it to a meeting in many months unfortunately, but I love the group and I try to keep up via email at least.&nbs
In today's post, guest blogger Carrie Adams, author of THE STEPMOTHER shares her Mother's Days musings on how hard it is to measure up the Hallmark version of Mom. As a mom myself, I know where she's coming from. Sometimes we cry over our failures, and sometimes over how amazing our kids have turned out...
This past Thursday, my book club got together for our monthly meeting to discuss THE PIANO TEACHER by Janice Y.K. Lee. There were just four of us this month's and we were split down the middle as to whether or not we liked the book.
In honor of Mother's Day, I thought I'd share some lovely stories of mothers and daughters bonding over books!
Just got this cute picture in from Susan Rebecca White, the author of A SOFT PLACE TO LAND. The Atlanta based author has been on a road-trip with her mom, hitting bookstores all across the south.

Today's guest post by Leah Stewart, author of HUSBAND AND WIFE tackles the issue of whether or not fiction has anything to teach women. In today's post, guest blogger Karen White, author of ON FOLLY BEACH shares a very human side of being a writer and talks about her first experience being recognized in public.
Mother’s Day is this weekend and in today's guest blog post Rebecca Wells, author of THE CROWNING GLORY OF CALLA LILY PONDER and THE DIVINE SECRETS OF THE YA-YA SISTERHOOD talks about all the strong women who mother us and the lessons we learn from them.
